Hailing from Motherwell, Scotland, Deborah Orr is a columnist for the Guardian and one of Britain’s foremost political and social commentators. Previously, she was deputy editor of arts magazine City Limits, a contributor to New Statesman and the editor of the Guardian Weekend magazine. She resides in Stockwell, south London, with her husband Will Self, their two sons and dog.
